Electrical network, electrical circuit, and electrical elements
Electrical network
The word network means interconnection. An electrical network means an interconnection of electrical elements or electrical components.
Electrical Circuit
An electrical circuit is an interconnection of electrical elements in the closed path for providing the flow of current.
Difference between an electrical network and electrical circuit
Electrical Network
- It is not necessary to have a closed path.
- There is a possibility of an open circuit.
- Current is intended to flow through all electrical elements.
- All electrical network is not an electrical circuit.
Electrical Circuit
- It is necessary to have a closed path for the flow of current.
- There should not be any open circuit.
- It is not necessary for current to flow through all elements.
- All electrical circuit is an electrical network
NOTE:- Basically , electrical circuit is the subset of electrical network.
In the given figure electrical network consist of one circuit and an open resistor.
Electrical Elements
Any electrical/electronic device or component used in the electrical network is called electrical elements. For example- Battery cell, bulb, resistor, capacitor, inductor, etc.
